Hands-on Workshop on the Use of SPSS

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the Hands-On Workshop on the Use of SPSS, held on March 2nd, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The workshop took place at the Digital Lab, St James Institute of Nursing & Health Sciences, Karachi.

Workshop was organized by Ms. Rubina Hafeez, Principal of St James Institute of Nursing and Health Sciences. This workshop aimed to enhance participants’ proficiency in utilizing SPSS for statistical analysis. The expert facilitator for the workshop was Dr. Hira Waseem, a distinguished PhD holder in Statistics. Dr. Waseem brings a wealth of experience and expertise in statistics and SPSS, having served as a faculty member at Dow University of Health since 2016.

Dr. Hira Waseem’s research interests encompass a wide array of statistical techniques, including the application of statistical methods, modeling functional time series data, and addressing public health-related issues. With over ten research papers to her credit, Dr. Waseem has demonstrated her commitment to advancing statistical knowledge and its practical applications.

21 participants including students and faculty members attended the workshop. Throughout the workshop, participants had the opportunity to engage with Dr. Waseem in hands-on learning sessions, gaining valuable insights into data analysis using SPSS. Her extensive experience in conducting training sessions for data analysis using statistical software across various educational institutions in Karachi ensured a comprehensive and enriching learning experience for all attendees.

Furthermore, it is noteworthy that all participants expressed their satisfaction with the workshop. They commended the organizers for the well-structured sessions, engaging activities, and valuable insights shared throughout the event. As a result, all attendees unanimously recommended that further workshops be conducted in the future too.
