Mental Health Day Celebration

On October 29th, 2023, students of the sixth semester at St. James Institute, under the banner of GBSN semester six, organized a series of activities to commemorate Mental Health Day. The event aimed to raise awareness and promote mental health well-being.
The day commenced with an insightful introductory speech by the Institute’s Principal, who highlighted the significance of mental health in the lives of students and the broader community. The speech emphasized the importance of acknowledging mental health issues, reducing stigma, and fostering a supportive environment for those struggling with mental health challenges.
Throughout the day, students organized various activities related to mental health, including workshop, and interactive sessions. These activities were designed to educate attendees about the importance of mental well-being, coping strategies, and resources available for those in need. The engaging sessions encouraged open discussions, enabling students to learn different coping strategies and building a safe and supportive atmosphere.
To add to the festive spirit, a spread of refreshments was provided, offering a selection of delicious snacks and beverages. The refreshment area provided an opportunity to the attendees to unwind, mingle, and continue their conversations about mental health in a more informal environment. This thoughtful arrangement allowed participants to bond over shared experiences and provided an opportunity for individuals to connect on a personal level.
The efforts of the students were met with appreciation from Sir James, the Director of the Institute. His commendation underscored the significance of the event and recognized the students’ dedication to promoting mental health awareness within the institution. The Mental Health Day celebration served as a testament to the Institute’s commitment to nurturing not only the academic but also the emotional and psychological well-being of its students.
