The St. James School of Nursing was established in 2005 to offer a three-year general nursing diploma program. Based on its stellar performance as an organization providing excellent nursing education, the School was soon upgraded to the degree level. This led to the formation of St. James Institute of Nursing and Health Sciences, established adjacent to the School, to provide evening degree classes in nursing.
St. James Institute of Nursing and Health Sciences started in August 2008 as an institute which would be responsible for providing standard professional education and training in the field of nursing and health care. It has some salient features which make it one of the best organizations in the country. The Institute is affiliated with Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS)in 2008 to 2009. After 2009 the institute is affiliated with Zia Uddin University. A team of well qualified and experienced faculty members is available to teach the students. The faculty provides them guidance in their professional and personal growth in the classroom and supervises them in clinical and scholarly activities. St. James Institute of Nursing and Health Sciences is well-equipped with learning resources and an environment that facilitates learning.

The establishment of this Institute has filled a crucial gap in the need of standard institutes for nursing education in Pakistan. . Community based rehabilitation and primary health care centre named “Dar-ul-Rehmat” (DUR) and “Bait-ul-Tabassum Welfare Organization.”
.DUR also financed Diploma in Nursing for 90 of its volunteers who received training at Liaquat National School of Nursing during the 2004-2007 session.
.Founding St. James School of Nursing in 2005 for a 3-year Diploma program in Nursing. The School has been inspected twice by Pakistan Nursing Council and has acquired certification.
.Since 2005, the School has had three Nursing Diploma sessions that have been attended by 130 trainees.
